Joie de vivre kind of thing

If there is one thing that most (if not all) people know about me, is that I have a talent for enjoying the little things in life. One example that keeps popping up, is the extent to which I can enjoy a cup of coffee and a tiny little piece of chocolate while sitting under the sun (song: Soak up the sun). So yes - enjoying life or joie de vivre is kind of my thing.

Ever since my time at university I had my go-to method for relaxing, especially during those intense periods, like when studying for an exam or writing an essay.
I would get a coffee and settle down for a 15 minute google-spree doing a deep dive into spa's and relaxing massage treatments.
Of course being a student and all, I never actually splurged on a massage, not mention a stay at a spa.
Oh no, (as I think everyone here knows) my money was earmarked for coffee.
(whenever my grandmother would hand me money for Christmas or Birthdays she would instruct me to not spend it on coffee but on a nice dress instead. How she knows me!)

Thirtyfive year old me has now visited a couple of spa-facilities. And my take from this is that 1. My imagination is both extremely vivid and often better than reality and 2. the quality of a spa can vary grossly and I am yet to find that one spa that I would revisit and gush about to all my friends.

#Steam
This past weekend I visited Steam with one of the sisters and we both absolutely loved the decor and feel of the place. Considerably more than the constant waiting for the elevators to get anywhere. We stayed on the 9th floor and had 2 elevators taking us to dinner and breakfast on the 18th.

The spa facilites were clean and after a quick visit we decided to go for an ice cream walk by the water. This is a spa made for couples or group of friends there to enjoy a bachelor or bachelorette party. Our package included dinner & breakfast in the asian restaurant and dinner was good but everything on the breakfast was just a little bit so so.

Still had a lovely weekend and definitely look forward to trying another spa.
But until then - it is Tuesday and time for Tuesday champagne.
