Så jo, det var en sak jag brukade göra varje söndag, Just söndagen kändes perfekt eftersom det är veckodagen som kännetecknas av en högsta möjliga mysfaktor. Varje söndag, efter att ha spenderat en hel timme (aldrig mindre och inte sällan mer) med att njuta av söndagsfrukosten och dagens första rykande heta kopp kaffe (som alla vet är den bästa!) och medan jag avnjöt dagens andra kopp, brukade jag scrolla genom mina favoritbloggar och leta rätt på nya favoriter att lägga till listan. 

 

Det var på en sådan upptäcktsfärd som jag hittade bloggarna på min nuvarande favvo-lista. 

 

Favvo-listan:

 

1. Retro Flame skriven av den irländska bloggaren Erika Fox som är bosatt i New York. 

Retro Flame är en perfekt mix av livsstil, New York (som alla vet att jag ÄLSKAR), hälsa, mode och vardagsliv, allt packeterat i en välskriven blogg av en tjej som dessutom verkar vara urgullig. Därtill spetsar hon varje december månad till det med en V-logmas där man får följa henne på en massa julmys med staden i bakgrunden. 

 

2. Tracy's New York Life är en New York blogg som drivs av - som titeln hintar om: Tracy Kaler. En alldeles drömsk blogg som utspelar sig i och om New York. Kunde inte vara mer perfekt för en tjej som dagligen drömmer om nästa resa till New York. 

 

Fotnot: Det var här som jag upptäckte skribenten Lauren Malamala som förutom en massa annat har bloggen Halela 5th. Lauren kontaktade jag vid ett senare tillfälle och intervjuade för detta blogginlägg. 

 

3. Paris in Four months är en annan blogg som jag upptäckte i dåtid. Även om bloggaren Carin Olsson är en fotograf och en jäkligt duktig sådan är hon också en väldigt bra skribent och grym kreatör. 

 

4. Damsel in Dior drivs av Jacey Duprie. Inledningsvis var det namnet på bloggen som lockade och när jag läste ett inlägg föll jag också för bloggen. Idag har jag snarare fallit för hennes Instagram-konto där man (just nu) får följa hennes och makens liv i karantän. Tillsammans har de världens sötaste bebis June och så hunden Polly. Något som alla som följer hennes instagram vet och som inte innebär att jag är en stalker, bara för att göra det klart. Förutom att vara en duktig skribent och ha galet snygg stil som kan få vem som helst intresserad av mode (!) verkar även Jacey vara en väldigt skön person som man bara vill hänga med.  

 

Eftersom bloggjakten var en tradition som både var mysig och som ledde till upptäckten av flera inspirerande skribenter, tänkte jag prova den igen och se om den fortfarande passar. Även om det finns många bra bloggar idag är de allra flesta fotofokuserade. Trots att det kan handla om otroligt fina bilder, är jag en flicka som hellre smuttar på en riktigt välformulerad mening till mitt morgonkaffe. Nu när jag är student så känns ju måndag som en bra dag att gräva i blogg-djungeln. Det ser jag fram emot att göra på måndagar: gräva mig igenom bloggar-djungeln och smutta på välformulerade meningar till morgonkaffet. 

 

 

So yes, there was this thing I used to do and it was actually every Sunday rather than Friday. Sunday's seemed just right, since I am sure everyone will agree it is the weekday best known for being the coziest day. After spending a whole hour (never less and not seldom more) enjoying a Sunday breakfast and the first smoking hot cup of coffee of the day (which everyone knows is the best). And while enjoying the second cup of the day, I would scroll through my favorite blogs and then spend some time to look for new favorites to add to the list. 

It was at one of these good-blog-huntings that I discovered the blogs currently on my fave-list. 

Current fave-list:

1. Retro Flame, written by New York based Irish blogger Erika Fox. Retro Flame is the perfect mixture of lifestyle, New York (the city everyone knows I LOVE), health, fashion and everyday life, all packaged in a well-written blog by a girl that on top of everything seems like a genuinely sweet person. Every December she mixes things up with a V-logmas with lots of that lovely christmas feeling enjoyed with the city in the background. 

 

2. Tracy's New York Life - a New York blog by - as the title suggests: Tracy Kaler. Now this is a seriously dreamy blog played out in New York and it is all about New York. Which again, could not be more perfect for a girl - who on a daily basis would think about NYC about 2564 times. 

Footnote: It was at Tracy's that I discovered the writer Lauren Malamala who besides tons of other projects also has the blog Halela 5th. At a later point I interviewed her for this post. 

 

3. Paris in Four months - by blogger Carin Olsson, who besides being a damn talented photographer also happens to be a good writer. 

 

4. Damsel in Dior is run by Jacey Duprie. Initially it was the name that caught my attention before actually reading an entry and falling for the blog. Today I am completely hooked on her Instagram account where you can follow her and the husband's life (currently) in quarantine. They also happen to have the cutest baby ever: June and Polly the dog. Something everyone who follows her Insta-account knows and in no way means I am a stalker. Besides the writing skills and a crazy gorgeous style that would turn anyone on to fashion (!) Jacey seems like a genuinely nice person that you want to have margaritas with. 

Something that, now that I think about it, all the bloggers on my list have in common. 

Since the good-blog-hunting was a tradition that was both cozy and which lead to the discovery of several inspiring writers, I thought I would try it on again and see if it still fits.

Even though there are many good blogs today, they tend to be photography-focused. And though they can be filled with great pictures, I am girl who would rather sip on a truly well-formulated sentence with my morning coffee. And now that I am re-living student life, Monday seems like the perfect day to go digging through the blog-jungle. 

So that's what I will be doing the next couple of Monday's: dig through the blogger-jungle while sipping on well-formulated sentences while enjoying my morning coffee.
