Joie de vivre
Somewhere in the background Edith Piaf’s is singing La Foule. Mushy but sweet strawberries are sitting in a bowl on the table, the fruity red wine is poured into a glass and there is dark chocolate and salty licorice to go with the wine.
I mean, not to toot my own horn, but how freaking fabulous doesn’t that sound? On a scale of one to ten. And be honest!
The whole scene is completed with a Sophie Kinsella book that I haven’t read before (which I have to tell you is pretty damn difficult these days since, at this point, after reading a book a week, have read all of her books at least three, or fifty times. But who is counting?).
Just in case anyone is wondering, THIS is how you enjoy a night home alone. Sure the red wine can be switched for a cup of tea, smoking hot coffee or ice cold champagne, depending on your mood. But other than that… It’s perfection.
It’s not for nothing that my friends declared me the Queen of Enjoying Life.
After an early start on waking up the neighbors duty, two long walks and two lectures I feel like I’ve earned an evening with candles and Pavarotti. Oh well - that was it for the blogging-break and it’s time to get back to enjoying. Happy hump day!
